Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – 45-50 Degrees
Wind came up as clouds came in later in the day. VERY slow. Got a few passing shots at Goldeneyes. Saw lots of birds simply rafted up around the islands, but nothing moving to speak of. Not hearing other shots, either. When we left Boise it was 31, but down there it was between 43 and 48 all day.

Cloudy, Snow Flurries – 10-20 Degrees – Ice
Been hunting the past four days. Lots of birds in the area. Lake Lowell is holding a little over 37,000 ducks right now and its not bad hunting either if you can get a spot and people dont set up right next to you and ruin every flock that comes in. Went out to Parma today. There was nothing. Shot a few pheasants cause the ducks werent flying worth the crap. I have heard that the snake river is doing good all over. Anyone have info on the snake? Leet me know.

Cloudy, Occassional Rain Showers – 35-40 Degrees
It is amazing what a few days can do. Earlier in the week there were thousands of ducks and geese and last night I saw very few. Shot a few greenheads and passed on hundreds of Common Goldeneyes. No snow, no ice, and suddenly no birds!! BUMMER!!

Mostly Sunny, No Precipitation – 30-34 Degrees – Open Water
The birds are here!!! I saw thousands of ducks and geese in a corn field and they were very easy to decoy. I picked my nephew up from school and let him do most the shooting. He shot a box of shells in an hour. Great fun!!!!

Cloudy, High Winds – 25-30 Degrees – Ice
Went hunting the past weekend. Shot a few but nothing real special. Lots oif birds have moved in with this front that has pushed in the past week. Saw a huge increase on the numbers of ducks, but the geese numbers are increasing rapidly. Sunday morning we saw probable around 15,000 geese in some fields we scouted. Seems like the birds are using grass and weat fields more than corn right now. So if you got fields like that hunt em up, and if you need someone to go with you I am always willing to hunt with new people. So send me a private message or reply to this if you want to join me or have me join you.

Cloudy, Winds Calm – 10-20 Degrees – Ice
Does anyone ever work anymore. Me and a friend went to Old Fort Boise on tuesday of all days. We got there and 5 am and there was at least 7 cars there. Also this goes out to people hunting out there. STOP shooting at ducks that are like 100 yards out there. All you are doing is teaching them to fly higher and not come into other people that try to get them in close. Also I think that hunting off that road that runs along the front of the WMA by the refuge should be band. All people do on that shoot at everything that flies over no matter how high or how far they are. All I am trying to say is that go somewhere and ski bust. Also one more thing to ad. if you wound a bird try to find it. I am sick of watching people shoot birds and the will glide a little bit then they dont even go try to find them. Other than all my ranting for not, Parma has froze so birds are moving to the river. Best bet out that way is on the Boise or the Snake.

There are tons of birds on the big water but the weather was too good. Lots of geese but the northern ‘big’ push has not shown up yet. The upper snake river is holding some ducks but more geese. Trumpeter swan numbers are high on the Henry’s Fork and all still water is frozen solid.

Been hunting the past few days. Lots of birds have moved into the area but conditions are getting tough. Rivers remain open while small ponds and sloughs are freezing. Hopefully geese start moving in soon. There has been a few but not enought to excite me. If anyone knows where the geese are at or even some decent diver action let me know either by replying to this or through a private message. Thanks and good luck to all.

Thats awesome. i am planning to go over that way in the spring for the spring snows. I hope the birds start coming here shortly. On a good note me and my brother went hunting this weekend and shot a few snows and speckle bellies on the snake outside of mountain home. Saw a few big flocks of wigeons and mallards but I couldnt tell if they were coming in or going out.
