Wrong shooting times in Idaho Waterfowl Regs 10-19-2011 17:39

** Wrong shooting times in Idaho Waterfowl Regs **

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game put out a notice that some of the shooting times in January are wrong in the state’s waterfowl regulations.

The time chart on Page 11 in the 2011-2012 Waterfowl Seasons and Rules book has incorrect times for five days in January.

The opening times on Jan. 22-27 in the column for Ada, Adams, Boise, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Owyhee, Payette, Valley and Washington counties and part of Idaho County, all in the Mountain Time Zone areas, are off by 3 hours.

The correct opening times in those areas are: Jan. 22 – 7:41 a.m.; Jan. 23 – 7:40 a.m.; Jan. 24 – 7:39 a.m.; Jan. 25 – 7:39 a.m.; Jan. 26 – 7:38 a.m.; and Jan. 22 – 7:37 a.m.

The correct closing time for Jan. 27 is 5:49 p.m.

The times for all other days are correct.

For a correct table, see the waterfowl rules on the Fish and Game Web site at:

I have been out on the river and not seeing much for ducks bunching together. Have seen lots of woodies flying by. Hey, Shoot 13 when are you going to be in the area?

I would love to come out and hunt the snake river but I have no means of getting a boat or decoys out there. too far of a drive from SC. I have hunted AR for the past 14 years and it’s old so I’m looking for something new. Please let me know if you can help. I will be traveling with my brother and that’s it so there won’t be too many people for a boat. We are good callers and not sky blasters.

Birds seem to be bunching together, probably because the ponds are freezing and temps are dipping. Hunted river today not much action.

Is there anyone else in Idaho that uses this reporting page? No new birds to speak of, I have hunted the river all week and run it just to scout but not much around.

Lost of birds flying high. There isnt much willing to work the decoys. I guess its that time of the season.
