We had a fair opener. Then they gave us 4 extra teal days. Neighbor and I went to work on his deer stands, took our shotguns, beavers had dammed up the creek and flooded a milo field. We each limited out with one shot. There were about 500 in the field. LOL!
I pulled a similar stunt with an old table saw. I was building shelves for the garage at son’s house I moved to and was cutting a test strip to hang peg board. Had a short piece and grabbed the other end and the saw kicked and took a chunk out of my left index finger and slice of my thumb. I almost became the Cornbread of the South. Wasn’t enough to stitch or glue, so I just used the peroxide and betadine and kept it bandaged for a few days. Healing nicely. Dang lucky.
I painted my other house in Jackson also. Like you earth tones. A couple of Japanese are coming in on the 21st and will hopefully like it enough that their company will pay me $2200/mo. for them to live there for the next 2 years. Basically, I am house poor. Spent the last year and a half fixing up 2 places in Jackson, son’s and mine, and the 2 places on the lake at Reelfoot. Time to get liquid. Put the for sale by owner sign up a few weeks ago. Had 3 offers for a contract for deed. If I don’t rent to the japs next week, I will probably go ahead and list it with a realtor. Too much of a hassle stopping what I am doing to meet someone that wants a year to get their credit in shape.
Haven’t seen the birds here in any good numbers yet, so instead of hunting, I finished the shelves in the garage. Now to get the other garage empty so I can fill this one up. Goodwill likes seeing me come around. Everyone should move at least once every 26 yrs.
Agree w/webbie, there is nothing productive about FB. Place where people who can’t communicate one on one spew crap and expect nothing to come from it. Had a personal experience recently along those lines. I made it a point to visit this particular individual face to face. I put an end to their BS. If they are typing, it is with a pencil. LOL.
43 Draw blinds, rest are private, approx. 300 total. Grass holes, timber and open water with pretty much every species known to man. Plenty of guides. Let me know if you want to get a group together. I also have a pit right at the Ky. line. Great spot.
Existing blind sites either have a blind built by previous draw winners or you build your own. Back in the 80’s, the state made the locals register the “private” blinds. They must register them each year or the state takes them over. Once the original register passes, the state takes it over and they have the option of including it in the draw. One of my tenants wife got drawn, we got a nice big open water blind. Good spot.
