I checked my uncles place in Wayne this morning. Water is WAY down and not a single bird.

I was already planning to hunt a flood control that is holding lots of divers and puddlers over by Lindsay on Sat. I was going to hunt my uncles on Sunday. Looks like I will be heading somewhere else on Sunday.

Gotta check a few spots before I decided I guess.

Good luck to all!!

Well it seems we have even less water than we had 2 weeks ago. I don’t recall a time in recent memory where my ponds were this low. We do have a few ducks hanging around but if we don’t get some water they won’t be staying around long. I wish all a great #2 opener and a great finish to the season.

Yep, I head out of town just as the first decent front of the year hits town. I did see some buffies down in FL.

had a couple days of pretty good shooting, seems some birds may be moving around, not as many as I’d like but at least we are getting our barrels warm. Hope we get some birds in from that front tomorrow!

good luck all

Cloudy, High Winds – 30-34 Degrees – Open Water
Not sure if the birds weren’t moving, or if they have just moved out. Did not see very much activity at all. Ended up shooting 2 green heads.

Hopefully we get a few birds in before Sunday.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Duncan 11-24-2010 09:43
Cloudy, High Winds – 50-60 Degrees
Had a pretty good hunt today at one of my leases down in Duncan. Never hunted there and was only going off of my partners(first time duck hunting) description of the pond. Got there plenty early and jump 100 or so geese off of it.

Shot well at first and then not so well. We ended up with 2 wigeon, 2 gadwalls and a bull can.

Plan on hunting in the Wayne area tomorrow. Hopefully this weather will bring the birds!!

Sure enough the action was much better yesterday. Went to a large farm pond in the middle of nowhere and shot several ducks of all different kinds. Buffle heads, jacks, mallards, greys, teal etc. then got into dark geese and even a volley at snow geese produced a couple.

Great to finally see some birds, now I just wish God would send some water so we could keep them around a bit.

Spotted some woodies tucked away in the corner of an ag field Fri evening and since there was no better options we set up on them this morn. Killed 9 it was a pretty good shoot. While we were hunting we say several groups of high flying ducks and snow geese. Glad to FINALLY see some real acivity. Found some green on a pond today headed out in the morning to see it we can talk them down.

Well I guess the real question then is where are we going to do this?

Also, if you want to attend, post up.

Very real possibility that it will just be the 3 of us!! lol

i’m game for a group hunt if we ever get any real numbers down here! I finally had some teal show up at one of my holes, if they are still there I might brave the fur chasers in the morning and try to shoot one or six of them.
