John, My Son is an duck hunter and he lives in Round Rock. When he has the urge to hunt, he heads to the coast or the east Texas lakes. He’s never mentioned any real action on Lake Granger.

Been a slow start for the blue bommers they are all spread out with all the sheet water around. We have shot a 10 man limit every time but it’s taken a ton of miles to find a good shoot. Dove have been awesome and now the northern doves are starting to move into the area.

Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – Over 70 Degrees
Eight hunters and got 30 Blue wings. Talked to a guy and they got nine limits in 30 minutes. Will do it again on Sunday.

Texas rice production this year was off by 87% from 5 years ago.

I guess that explains why waterfowl numbers were so pitiful this year.
If Texas doesn’t start feeding them again…
Texas duck hunting is history.
The birds go where the food is.

Last hunt this season sucked just like the whole year. Not many hunters or ducks. MAYBE NEXT YEAR.
