Haven’t been at Cbiola if a few weeks. The last time I was there was for 11 days during Thanksgiving. Huntung was slow but one day I had a good shoot. Six Mallards and ring neck.
Has anyone been that way lately? Im thinking about heading back.

Cloudy, Light Rain & Drizzle – 40-45 Degrees
Yesterday’s Wine(the song) and yesterday’s hunt are a sweet memory. I pulled into the “Horseshoe” at sunrise and got things set-up. The 1st. hour went by with 2 flocks of about 10 Mallards in each one heading North and staying well out of range. At 8:15 coming in low to the water and out of the South, a line of ducks were beaming into me. At 80 yards or so they landed and started to swim on in. With my peeps and whistles they came charging in, about 15 of ‘um. At 30 yards I stood up and hollered cut ‘um. Up went the ducks and up came the ol’ 870. 3 shots later, 5 drake G.W. Teal were floating on the, water, D.O.A.. Tasty Teal. Need I say more. Once again, one flock can make a huge difference. Not much else moved and I was a bit surprised with the weather so ducky. I was finished at high noon. Oh well days like that happen. The “posse”, son Rio, and I should be at Gander Flats this evening and Rambo needs to to make up for lost time at the ‘zoo. The “posse” will be out in force with the weekend weather looking promising and cold things going on up North. So saddle up, lock and load Gent’men and remember, “it’s not how many you get, it’s how you feel about the ones you do.”!!! Be safe “out there”, Rusty and the “Posse”

I did alot of scouting yesterday and there are alot of patos locos here. They are scattered around everywhere. King Cans in Catfish Bay,Redheads/Bluebills/Widgeon at Dog Cove.Mallards/Gadwalls/Blackjacks at Jude’s Chute, Mallards at the “360”, Buffle Heads,Golden-Eyes, Green-Wing Teal everywhere it seems. I set-up for 2 1/2 hours after the scouting run at “South Park” point. One fat drake Redhead and 2 Gadwalls make for a fine morning for this blessed hunter. So get out there while the gettin’s good guys. With wings locked and landing gear down, Rusty and the “Posse”

Hello Waterfowler’s, My last 2 submissions didn’t post up. Oh well, the ducks and geese are co-operating well here and “dat’s a beautiful thing”!!! Out 3 times since last Sat., I total 2 Ross Geese, 3 Greenheads, 3 Widgeon, 2 Gadwall, 2 G.W. Teal, and 1 “Smiling Hollywood” duck. Thursday was PRIMO. I seen at least 500 ducks and 11 big Honkers buzzed me going South, a little out of range, just as 5 Greenheads came skidding in next to the Snow dekes. I hammered a double in one shot. 4 ducks by 7:15 Az. time, how nice. My 1st. limit day BY 8:55 and life is good in REMINGTON COUNTRY(my 870 12ga.is 33 y.o.)!!! God Bless and the “Swing Is Da Thang”, Rusty and the Chemehuevi Valley Waterfowl Posse

Gentlemen, does anyone have an individual person to contact at the tribal office that may be interested in adding wetlands to the tribal lands? (at no expense to the tribe, and an additional income source)…I’m Native American myself , and have dealt with trying to help other tribes with conservation and recreational grants, etc. , but it is very hard to get anything done (achieved) without an actual great spokesperson at the tribe that wants change???….are the fish ponds being constructed, or distructed?…or whatever???orginally a couple of years ago someone told me that the area adjacent was going to be converted to wetlands…or the fishponds were????thru a governmental grant to see if the honker population could be re buildt up, since they are being killed in large numbers in the early season hunts in the states to the north….any success on the crit reservation for anyone lately?…I haven’t been there in about five years….hunted the south ranch, by CIbola refuge; but it’s pricey; but set up very, very good….really nice people that run the operation
