Boy, you guys in La. are going to have a great 2012 season. Record hatch up north and drought clear down to La. We are really dry up here in Iowa and south and I mean really dry.

OPening weekend of second split was probably the worst I’ve seen in awhile . Very few birds being killed in our area . Total for weekend was less than 40 with 6 blinds on Saturday ,4 blinds on Sunday.
Hopefully it will improve .

– – 40-45 Degrees
First split ended on December 5th here . Overall first split was better than average for our area . We hunted 16 days total and ended with 542 birds killed. We normally hunt 5 blinds with 2 guest and a guide. Hopefully the second split which opens December 18th will continue to improve on what has started off as a good year.

Hunted three days of teal season ,not much to talk about here. Killed 3,12,2 .Weather was hot ,opening morning was 85 and no wind . Seeing good numbers of big ducks ,just not the teal I had expected.
Well regular duck season is just about a month off ,so hopefully it will be a good one.
