Jackson Co, North Alabama 12-04-2005 19:32
Cloudy, Rain & Thunderstorms – 40-45 Degrees
Jackson County, AL
Dec. 4
1 Hunters, 2.5 hours
2 ducks (Gadwalls)

Bad weather made for a good day to hunt. Had a group of 20 or so gads work the spread and dropped 2. A hen and drake. Had a few more groups of gadwalls and woodies work but never commit. Rain was steady and the temps were dropping and it proved to be a good combination. While picking up SEVERAL gads and woodies came right in for a peaceful night. Until next weekend.

Jackson Co, North Alabama 12-03-2005 14:23
Cloudy, Occassional Rain Showers – 30-34 Degrees – Open Water
Jackson County, North Alabama
4 Hunters
5 Hours
9 Birds
4 Wood Ducks, 3 Ringnecks, 1 Mallard, 1 Gadwall

Birds flew late due to rain and cloud cover. Birds came in groups of 2 and 3 over five hours. Saw MANY wood ducks but very few, if any mallards or gads. A lot of shooting heard in upper Mud Creek and Town Creek. Overall good morning to begin the second split.

Had a great opener on Guntersville toward the cut, limited out with 36 ducks: 1ringer, 1 redhead, 1mallard,3shovels, rest were gads, The ducks were all on us, due mostly to low water.

We saw a good many big ducks up high mostly greys with a few mallards. Saw maybe 30-40 woodies and a couple big wads of gwt, shot 2 greys 3 gwt on friday. Saturday more high flying big ducks,we smashed a wigeon and 3 woodies and a group of about 50 canada geese came a little to close and we picked up one. All my spots down here are either dry or very shallow so it doesn’t look any better here. Good luck and be safe.
