Cloudy, Light Rain & Drizzle – 45-50 Degrees
Took off for a week yo go hunt Illinois on some private land. The duck hunting was unbeliveable limited every day early except for the last day only hunted an hour had to catch my flight. Hunted flooded corn and timber. Shot my first drake woodie, be sure mount that one. Snow geese were coming in thick saw about ten flights a day with 200+ birds in each flight, hopefully the same will happen down here. Good to see we are getting some birds down here. Gunna hunt Alamo this week found a nice cove the big birds were working two weeks ago. Make sure you tell all the Topock birds how to get to Alamo. GOOD LUCK!!

Sunny & Clear, High Winds – 45-50 Degrees
Sat, Nov.20
Started out to be a good day, wind was already blowing when I got in the marsh. Set out 2 dozen dekes and 2 mojo’s. Birds were coming in but sitting wide. Think the wind was just too much for the area I sat up in. Did see some guys next to the highway SKY busting everything that came by. I bet they shot 3 boxes of shells each. The birds were still flying when I left about 12:30. Saw alot of geese even had a flock of canadas come by but just out of range. The snows that are down are new they were circling over the marsh all day. Picked up a total of 2 birds both gadwall. The marsh has mostly widgen, gadwall and widgens. Did see two nice flocks of pintails and three redheads or canvas backs, didn’t shot little to far to tell.
Three good days this week coming up…..With the snows up north we should have new ones on the way. Have a good hunt and turkey day.

Rembo,
I’m glad the hunt went well, the north end has always seem to hold more birds. How far back did you guys go? Sorry I counldn’t make it down, got to run the bussiness. Let me know the next time you guys can make it or maybe I can meet you guys in Parker.
As fo rthe Mojo’s I read last year the we (AZ) couln’t use them till the 18 of Nov. and I never found anything in 2004 hunting regs.this years. I called the AZ Fiah and Game and the officer said the were not allowed to hunt with them at all. BUT….. It was legal to use them in the marsh at Topac. So…. I called the California G&F and the Warden their said ” the officer form AZ didn’t know jack… that Az has no reg. on elec. decoys”.
So thats that

Sunny & Clear, High Winds – 50-60 Degrees
Gerald, our second hunt at Topock turned out much better than last year’s initial trip there (0 shots). We took around 15 birds for 3 guys on Friday. All gadwall & widgeon. The wind came up around 8:30 & we were seeing birds every 10 minutes or so for the next three hours. What’s up with the Mojo question.I didn’t know Az had any restrictions on them.

Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – 45-50 Degrees
Sat, Nov.13
Was out early this morning, was not able to sleep. Got in and set up and at before day break had mallards, teal and gadwall in the decoys. As the sun came up they left without even a shot. I set up north of from were I hunted the past two weekends and it made a differents. Saw really good numbers, but they kept their distance from where I was hunting. So by 10:00am having only 2 teal, I picked up the decoys and moved down some 2 to 3 hundred yards east and set out only three decoys (got 4 gadwall). Still I stayed till 1:30pm just to see the birds. Never had another teal or mallard come in to finish out the limit.
For those of wondrering about the geese. I never got to see them but heard them leave about 8am and when I moved, got to see three nice groups come in between 11am to 1pm. (all snows). Evan had a swan come about 50 yards just out of range. I only took the A5 2 3/4″. will take the 3″ mag A5 next weekend.
I think we will be about to use the mojo’s next weekend. I call and find out. Our does anyone know.

Cloudy, Winds Calm – 45-50 Degrees
Sat, Nov 6
Got in this moring expecting to see the same as last weekend but not to be. By 7:30 was coming out of the clothes. Temps were up in the 80’s by afternoon. I had three birds work the dekes all day two were mallards, let the hen go, then one teal. I had duck for lunch. Didn’t see no were as many as last weekend. I think the temps or hunting perssure may have pushed them south or north.
Didn’t get to hunt up north but when I left mid morning still a few shots up north. Havn’t talked to anyone yet to see what they picked up or saw.
Rembo – will be at Pintail saturday aroud 5 to 5:15 Saturday Driving a Silver F250 with 16 foot flat bottom jon boat. Black Lab in the back.

Well this morning saw Jr.Duckman Jared E. and I at “South Park” Point. With a light steady south breeze we waited for the sky to fill with the “Web-Foot Wonders De Los Cielos(huh)!!!And it did, for once and only once. At about 12:10 40 or so Drake Redheads came roaring in from southeast to northwest, over our Snow dekes, and I harvested 1 nice drake. Jared tried, but missed twice. Claimers???!!! Only the “Duck Gods” know for sure???!!! Good luck to all of you “Waterfowl Warriors” tomorrow – Chemehuevi Rez Waterfowl Boys

Hay Hoo To All, My gosh the “Havazoo” is rewarding us with multi- species of waterfowl. And heck, Brother Rambo and I nailed our first Ki’yov(2 big Snows)of the season at the “Horseshoe”.They worked in perfect and landed in the dekes!!! He also pulled off a gnarly double on 2 “robber” Balpatous Widgeonous and all 3 of Rambo’s Lab “puppies” had a ball on the retrieves. The day before,I had 15 Snows coming in and then veer off at about 100 yards out and not come in. CULPRIT: One of 4 honker floaters drifted back and snagged up against the only Snow floater I had out. A lesson learned. Opening Day Was terrific for Duckmen Patrick,Jared E.,Son Rio, and myself up ay Eric’s Bay(when U comin back home to HUNT Eric???) Patrick did well with his first shot of the season on a nice Gadwall and the boys and I could not hit a broad side of a barn had we been inside one that day!!! Oh well, a wonderful day was had by all. I went out 5 more times with no feathers harvested. Finally last Sat., I shot my 1st Chu’uck of the new season, a fat drake Mallard. Things are really off to a good start. I was also fortunate enough to become aquainted with U.S.F.W.S. Warden Matt Sherrell and Az. State Warden Greer. These 2 wardens are polite, efficient, and seem genuinely concerned about the Waterfowl resource, Hunters and safety. Respect these men, they DESERVE it. HAPPY HUNTING TO ALL AND BE SAFE “OUT THERE”!!!
