The final frameworks have been announced and with only a few changes it looks like all four flyways will be offering a liberal season package.
Hello folks, and as always, welcome to Waterfowler.com.
With less than thirty days remaining before the first of the early seasons kick off, waterfowlers across the US are gearing up for another year of liberal waterfowl hunting regulations .
There are a few changes of note for this year’s waterfowl seasons. With an increase in the breeding population of Pintial, the Fish and Wildlife service has removed the shortened “season with a season” for the Mississippi, Atlantic and Pacific Flyways. The Central Flyway has opted to continue the abbreviated season in order to complete a three year study that may allow for the implementation of a “Hunter’s Choice” bag limit system.
Other notable changes include a reduced seasons or limits for scaup and speckle belly geese. States will have option on how to address the harvest reductions on these two species, be sure to check your local regulations for final details.
A summary of the 2005 Waterfowl Season Framework is posted on the WFC home page. More detailed information can be found thought the U.S. Fish and Wildlife website, www.fws.gov.
