saw a whole bunch of divers, mostly ringers, up near gainesville yesterday. would have been nice to see them during the season but still cool to sit and watch for a bit. of course the geese area everywhere i go. won’t be long before they start having new little excrement factories following them around. HA!.

saw a bunch of sandhills the other day. They were pretty low and looked understandably confused. I think our weather patterns have even them messed up.

Our annual youth hunt was a big success again this year. had 10 or 11 kids and they killed 8 or 9 birds, the most ever. I missed it due to a last minute work change but as always the kids had a blast. If you get a chance to take a kid hunting, trust me you won’t regret it. It is very fun.

Sunny & Clear, High Winds – 35-40 Degrees
Hunted with Mealer this past weekend. We saw lots of birds and ended up with 12. Saw several pintails at daylight. Pretty good way to go out as well. By-the-way, if you have participated in the discussion of no birds in GA on the Georgia page….this is the place I was referring to…tons of birds!

hit aliceville friday mornign and we ended up with a mallard and 3 woodies. ducks were raining into the next hole over though. we should have moved but didn’t want to mess up another group of hunters.
saturday hunted the marsh. me and my partner killed 8. 2 mallards, 2 gadwall, 1 GWT, 1 woody and 2 ringers. Between the 7 guys all together i think we shot 30 birds maybe. could have stayed and shot more but we wanted to save it for the up coming youth hunt. not a bad way to end the season though.

Well, I’ll be dog goned!
Our guide in Jonesboro advised us not to come to Arkansas as duck hunting is so poor. Flooding is primaary reason, ducks are spread out everywhere.
Looks like we will be spending the end of the season locally in Georgia. In the meantime we are booked in during February at the Skeeter Branch Duck Preserve. My dog is getting some birds, I don’t care what it takes!
