Cloudy, Snow Flurries – –
Back at it this morning, 4 of us hunting and alittle colder today, saw alot more geese moving today and in mostly big flocks didnt look like they wanted anything to do with us early but a little later they changed there minds and we had us a 4 man limit by 11! A little geese again, and small flocks except for the last one it was around 25 birds and we knocked down 7! Another good shoot today get out and get them while there dumb.

Cloudy, Accumulating Snow – –
6 inches of snow and still snowin when we got to the pit, only set out 10 dzn deeks and were ready. Not much movin til 10, landed a nice bunch ended up with 4 then about half hour later got another bunch in killed 4 out of it, sucked a single in killed him then another bunch of around 8 killed 4 more, only need 3 to finish and 3 come by they go around and around we dont shoot and they leave! Damn! We decide thats good enough and gettin ready to leave someone suggest to wait for 30 min before we pick up and it was a good choice not long after we get 30 to bomb rite in and we fill, it was awesome geese worked great! All really little geese but it was a blast.

Hunted Tues, Wend, and today with little success, tues got way to darn windy couldnt keep the decoys up and when the few geese that did fly came by we had half out deeks on there sides had a killable pair but waited for them to land they didnt and no shots fired. Wends was just way to nice not much movin at all had some birds tryin to work but the farmer was rite behind us 100 yards or so loadin bales on trucks 0 geese killed. Today birds movin early set out a spread of around 40DZN and couldnt get any thing to look, had 4 comin in they flare at the last second we takem and only get 1, ducks movin all morning and think we saw new geese land on Wellington 3 lets hope this weather helps, we will be at it til sun.

Warm and blue bird day, plenty of honks around hunted a friends field south of wellington today, just like everything else high fliers, they hit the field east of us all morning til 10 then someone flipped a switch and here they come! Decoyed 3 flockes of at least 200 i mean 3 levels of birds tryin to come in! ended up with 9 should of had a limit no sweat but f”d up and took the ones we shouldnt of and let the ones go we should of hammerd, but aint no thing great shoot and a ton of honks out.

2 man limit on honkers before 8 this morning…..lots of birds in the area and most worked like Champs!
Got 1 band from the group and a Snow Goose as well….pretty unusual to see snow’s in this area.

Hunted a fri with high hopes and little results only killed 1, hunted north of Wellington sat looks good and goosy spittin snow, freezin rain and geese everywhere, massive waves comin from Rawhide and the water treatment plant. Ended up with 4 should of had a limit no sweat but guys in the pit west of us are the biggest sky bustin SOB’s ever! This morning was a bit better, geese flew til 11:30 skif of snow didnt get much done til the wind picked up once it did we ended up with 10 for the day so not bad, lots of birds here get after em!

No much movement yesterday am the afternoon was a different story good movement the last 2 hours of the day seen a two mile black cloud of geese working out around rawhide and had a few coming from the FoCo area that worked us really well. Also heard about alot of movement in the mead area in the afternoon after zero action in the am. Not positive but I think its def the moon that has things all out of whack so I decided to sleep in today and I am gettin after them this afternoon

WOW what a difference a day makes, geese everywhere yesterday and today nothin! Set out the big spread again with hopes of a repeat performance of yesterday but no go, had a single come rite in first thing, im not loaded tell the ol man to hammer him when he is ready, goose goes round and around 3 times 10ft off the ground and leaves no shots fired, ol man didnt hear me say shoot em he thought i wanted to land him, oh well thought that was just the begining but it was actually the end he was the only thing that came over. Only saw about 400 geese total today nothin like the thousands the days before.

Geese have been on the move all week big time, guys shot 2 on tues, nothin on wends, said they were actin like late season honks so me and a few buddies decided to hit them with a 20 DZN spread and it worked, had 5 bomb in killed 4 should of had em all but alittle excited, 3 more come in get 2, a single commits suicide get him, 3 more give us a run get 2, decide to go to lunch geese still tryin to land never should of left, come back get back in the pit decoy 8 more bust our 3 and thats a limit! Very good morning especaily for my first hunt of the season, TONS of geese movin all day hope they stick around, be back at it in the AM.
