Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – 35-40 Degrees
Decent numbers of Black Ducks seen while there were a few smaller flocks of Canada Geese. The Snow Geese began to make there way out there in two large concentrations later in the morning. The birds seemed to want in close to land or out around the 2.5mi mark.

Saturday December 16
Thousands of snows, hundreds of Canadas. Only got one though. Folks behind us did a lot of shooting in their field.

Cloudy, Heavy Fog – 50-60 Degrees
With visibility limited, ducks were rather heard, not seen. Had two different singles buzz the decoys at Mach 4 speed before we could even shoulder the guns. Snow geese were flying about in smaller flocks, but generally not coming under the fog. Heard a few flocks of Canada geese, but they didn’t want to play either. Heard a few sporadic shots in the distance. When it was all said and done, only a few birds were harvested in the surrounding area.

Hunted this morning out in the marsh in the dense fog. Should have stayed home. Got picked dead last and saw one duck that flew by in and out of the fog at 400MPH. Not much shooting and not many parties. I guess everyone got the memo to stay home. Next time clue me in.

must be a lot of new ducks. shot 16 ducks 3 people. combinations of mallards, blacks, shovelers, teal and pintails. All the pintails you ever want. left kinda early due to afternoon deer hunt. but overall decent amount of ducks more blacks then mallards, and small flocks of everything other then pintails!

Very surprised at the number of birds considering the weather this morning. Also confused about the amount of ice around since it was warm yesterday afternoon and not too cold last night. Either way, decent shoot for a day that I didnt expect much. Good number of teal either still around or just arrived. Mallards and Pintails in small to medium sized groups and tons of snows. I would like some snow before, during, or after Christmas please. Thanks you.

Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – 30-34 Degrees – Ice
Definitely some new birds in the area to keep things interesting. Saw a steady concentration of Snow Geese all morning long. Seems like the Canada Geese numbers have increased since the last split, but I don’t think they’re anywhere near peak numbers. The puddle ducks were about in small to medium sized flocks. All in all, a decent morning had afield.

spent the weekend scouting and found some places to have a fair amount of ice on them. The pools at bombay hook were all froze up with geese and ducks standing on the ice. Definetly new birds in the area, I sat in the deer stand in MD friday night and watched group after group move into the area for a steady 2 1/2 hours. There certainly seems to be new birds in the area after the strong north winds and bright nights with decent temps. It is a shame that it is going to warm up again once the split starts, seems like the week the season is closed here always has the best weather. There should be a fair amount of birds taken today with fresh birds here and most of the ponds froze up or atleast with sheet ice on them, I wont be out til wednesday but they better watch out,
