Migration Update – August 25, 2006

With the eve of early goose seasons and the dove opener just one week away, we can finally put the off-season to bed. It’s time to blow the dust out of the barrels, unleash the hounds and head to the field.

Hello, folks, and as always, welcome to Waterfowler.com.

In the north, the silent summer skies are gone. The early morning and evening flights of Canada Geese increase each day. Their familiar calls capture the attention of the avid waterfowl hunter and seem to beckon them back to their roots. September is here. It is our time — our time to escape; our time to pursue; our time with friends; our time to wrap ourselves in the passion we call hunting and rejuvenate our souls. Yep, it’s go time. Thank God.

September 1st marks the beginning of WFC’s weekly migration updates and flyway summaries. Each week we’ll report on waterfowl activity in all four flyways, as we have done every season since 1997. We encourage members to participate posting local reports in the state-by-state hunting report area. We look forward to reading your reports this season and continuing our mission to provide the most comprehensive migration data available in duck hunting today.

While there may be an off-season for duck hunters, but there is no off-season at Waterfowler.com. We’ve spent the better part of the year negotiating a host of new benefits for our members – which we will be announcing throughout the season.

Speaking of new benefits, if you haven’t stocked up on HEVI-SHOT for the season, be sure to visit the EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNTS page under the MEMBER AREAS menu. Members can save up to $40 on HEVI-SHOT when they purchase two cases from Mack’s Prairie Wings. The exclusive rebate form can be downloaded form this password protected page.

Members who join or renew their membership online this season will receive a FREE Stranglehold DVD from Knock’m Down Productions – a $14.99 value. This DVD features a rockin’ soundtrack, featuring Ted Nugent, and a plethora of quality waterfowl footage and hunting action. If you’re looking for a way to get psyched up for the season, this DVD is the perfect motivational video production for your hunting addiction!

Speaking of Knock’M Down, WFC and KMD are polishing the plans on a project that will break new ground in standard Waterfowler.com fashion.

If you haven’t invested in that big screen TV yet, you may wish to do so this season. While we can’t spill all of the beans just yet, just imagine what can happen when you combine the power of WFC’s creative technologies and membership, with the most artistic video production company in the world of waterfowl hunting today.

Yep, it’s gonna be big, and as exciting as opening day of duck season.

Until next week, fire-up that keyboard and post up your reports on the teal migration. These fast and furious birds are already on the move and early teal season is just around the corner for a number of states.
