Geese and leaving the Quemahoning Dam and not traveling far to the local oat fields. However, they are coming in during the evening very late…..after shooting hours. It happened to me last night again. All I could do is watch.

Hi gang!! Haven’t been on in awhile. Two of my five are now in college so I have been working my but off. Looks like alot of you have moved on to other pastures. I guess I will have to check out the other site too but I plan on being here.
Not much at all going on on the river.Need to get some of this corn cut. Even dove hunting has been slow.I am seeing a decent amount of geese but they but they are in places I cannot gun ’em at.
Terry, Good to hear the Feast is on. I will call you and I do plan on coming. Always a good time!!Looking forward to gunning with you guys again this year. “G”

Small flocks (15-20) are moving in the from the smaller lakes and hitting the oats in this area. I watched a flock of 18 land around 07:15 today in oat fields along Route 30.

FYI – 2C is out of bonus tags as well.

Not much action in Somerset County. Most/all of the corn is still standing. I saw one flock of 20 land across from WalMart in Somerset. I scouted local waterways and haven’t seen much either. Farmers and other hunters are reporting little activity as well.

For the first time ever, a flock landed in the oats behind my house yesterday morning. That looks like my only lead for the early season.

On another note, dove numbers are up. Remember that they can be hunted after 12:00 noon. No morning hunts.

Good luck to everyone. Hope your early season plans look better than mine.

Hello all! Been away awhile, busy working. Two kids in college now so gotta stay busy! Just wondering who is still around and how everyone is doing. Looking forward to Saturday. My twelve year old daughter(4th child)gets to hunt this year so we are going to try for geese in the morning and doves in the evening.Decent amount of geese on the local ponds and river.
Terry, you planning another Feast in the East?Always a good time and looking forward to it once again.Good luck everyone. “g”
