Hey guys — Last Sat. goose nest repair/rebuild project went just ‘pretty good’. We had a great turnout of airboaters and helpers, but the DWR guys didn’t pump in enough water for us to make it to all the old nests. We had fun riding around on a beautiful day, had a good social and lunch. Check it out on the Doug Miller show this Sat. nite, 11:00 pm. I’d sure like to hear about your Spring conservation hunt!! joe,
thank you for your congrats! as for time in the marsh? well time will tell, although she wants to go on my spring snow goose hunt this year, and i would love to have her there, but finding a babysitter and leaving a 7 month old for 4 days just doesnt seem possible!!!
if i wasnt going to be floating down the green this saturday i would be there for the nesting projects! please keep us posted on any upcoming projects that we can help out on.

Hey Cut Em — Congrats! Have a great year, and hope you still find time for the marsh this next season!!
This Sat. is the annual ‘goose-nest rebuilding project’ as sponsored by the Utah Airboat Association, sstarting at 0800 at Farmington Bay (North entrance) I know we could use a few more bodies for hoisting bales of hay.. If interested, call me for more info — 298-5561. Fun airboat ride and you may see some new hunting territory, and an excellent conservatiion project. -CUL-JOE

Hey Cut ‘Em, Jereme, thanks for the words on the e-collar. I’ll keep you posted on how things are going…
Hey Spry Dog — way to go! Now that’s about three more months of ‘honey do’s’ that’ll have to wait!! (By the way, I still need your help on my own ‘honey do’ project — attaching my waterfowling bike trailer to my bike) I’m jealous. Sounds like a fun Spring.
Any of you guys ever shot and eaten a snipe? I tried one, shot one last day of the hunt, and prepared it in stovetop frying pan, along with five doves shot in Sep. So they weere all cooked exactly the same. Results?? My wife and I agreed the snipe was much better, a more mild flavor, a lot like chukars. Next year I’m hunting snipe!! Time to clean up my clothes and dekes, check over my notes and list what I want to do for next season while it’s still fresh on my (old) mind. CUL — JOE

Well with my waterfowl season over i did get some good news the other day. I drew a Turkey
permit!!!! So more to learn now and something
to look forward to in April and May. For this i think the dog will need to stay home.
Dont think she can handle sitting still when theres a Turkey call going on.
Later Spry…

jereme,
good to hear from you buddy, i myself didnt get out again since the new year began, 6 month old little boy and wedding plans took over.
conservation hunt!!!! coming up soon, we will be in lamar from march 4th through the 7th. staying in the lamar inn (already have reservations), jack told me that our hotel is directly across from the bar(T R O U B L E). for sure we need to at least get together and share white geese stories at the bar if your still in town then. i still have your cell number on my cell so i will be able to get a hold of you once we are out there. How many guys are going down with you? i should have at least 5 guys and possibly 9, hopefully the birds give us plenty of shooting.
anyways i must go now, my eyes are sagging and the next day or work is fastly approaching.
