For anyone interested the meeting in Torrington with game and fish for 2008 goose season is March 26th. Be there or you have no reason to complain when they screw up the season and bag limits again. Lets fill the room.

Sunny & Clear, High Winds – 40-45 Degrees
We went hunting saturday and shot one goose. There is still a good huntable number that hang out around the river. But the ducks were thicker than sugar up there. couldnt get any to come over and play though. Welp there you have it. Good luck to anyone who is still hunting waterfowl

Field hunted Sat. and Sun. Saturday 5 guns 25 ducks, 24 mallards 23 drakes and mess up on a hen and 1 pintail drake, 1 goose. Sunday, 15 mallards and 3 geese, could have finished limits easily but had to get home. Tons of mallards and decoying in flocks up to 300, took turns shooting both days on the single drakes. Merry Christmas.

Saw a couple hundred mallards in a corn field just west of Pine, thought it was kinda of unusual cause no water around so maybe that strong north wind is blowin new birds down.

I drove around most of the county today and things were lookin pretty bleek, saw a few geese out by veteran, and about 200 just east of packer and maybe 30 on the resovior and 0 on table.Looks like gettin our Colo lease again was a good idea.

Sat. at Table I went to play with the geese. They played hide and seek, and won. Did not see one goose. Did not see any around.

Dose anyone hunt in Goshen county anymore? Well if you didnt this weekend you should have. Went to a private lease on the river on Saturday ond shot a three man limit of geese. Was done by noon.
