Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – Over 70 Degrees
No i have not ever hunted over on St. Vincent island but my dad has several times. He has only killed whitetails over there though, no sanbar deer. All i can tell is that it is hard hunting, no transportation, going in by boat, and if it is hot MOSQUITOS the size of dove. Again i have never been there hunting, i have just heard all of the stories of the people that have been there. I would probably go to the trouble of making the trip for a Sanbar deer but not for a whitetail, you have bigger deer in Eufaula than down there.

G E Drake, have you ever hunted the Saint Vincent National Wildlife Refuge. I’ve applied 3 years in a row but, haven’t been picked yet. They have those ( I believe it’s spelled ) Sanbar deer that get up tooooo 900 lbs????? They also hunt Whitetails ,which I believe thats not a draw hunt. Just show. Office is in Applichacola.

Arctic Blast – Over 70 Degrees
Ha Ha Yeah right, like we would ever get an arctic blast. Good luck in the dead lakes, i have hunted over there several times and there is some good shooting at certain times of the year. Once the ducks start to show on Seminole, you know it want be long until they make it down the river. I havent ever hunted ducks in Eufaula, just deer. You guys have some big deer compared to us here in FL. Good Hunting and Get em Drake!!!

Plan to scout the Dead Lakes area this year and hunt it also along with the other area I hunt down there. Ducks up here arn’t plentaful yet, but will be. Coming to the Eufaula area???? Give me a post. =*(^)<

Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm - Over 70 Degrees
Well if you like sweating in 5mm neoprene waders, mosquitos, bw teal, and wood ducks you would have loved this weekend. The birds flew late on Saturday but by the time we got out of the water we had a full limit of woodies and two bonus teal. It is rare to kill teal where we were hunting so that was a nice bonus. We all hunted deerpoint lake on Saturday afternoon and did not do nearly as well. It is proof that a little pressure makes the birds scarce. Sunday morning was good as well with a few more bonus teal from another area where we never kill that many. I talked to several people who mixed teal into their bag for the weekend so maybe that is a good sign for the migration. Well now back to work, I have got two months worth of anticipation to look forward to. Well I hope everybody had a good early season, see you guys when it gets cold, or at least cooler. Get em drake!

Talked to a fisherman buddy who said he saw some teal on Iamonia Sat, 9/10. Cant be a bad thing, but will they stay for 2 weeks is the big question.

WELL I GOT TIRED OF READING THE SAME OLD REPORT OVER AND OVER SO I THOUGHT I WOULD GET THE SEASON KICKED OFF WITH A NEW REPORT ABOUT SOME TEAL AND SOME WOODIES. I MADE THE BIG PURCHASE AND BOUGHT THE NEW 29 HORSE MUD BUDDY HYPERDRIVE IN THE OFFSEASON. WE WILL SEE IF IT IS WORTH IT, SO FAR I FEEL PRETTY GOOD ABOUT IT. WELL THE WOODIES ARE PRETTY THICK AND I HAVE SEEN SOME SPOTTY TEAL. WE HAVE STILL GOT TWO WEEKS LEFT FOR THE BIRDS TO MOVE IN SO PRAY FOR NORTH WINDS AND A LITTLE LUCK. HOPE EVERYBODY HAS A GREAT EARLY SEASON. GET EM DRAKE!!!

Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm - 60-65 Degrees
Gave the Big O one more shot this weekend. Saturday morning was good had lots of Teal buzzing around. Hunting stopped around 10:00. Hunted a couple hours on Sunday birds gut up early and grounded within a half hour. Shooting was fast and furious. Mostly teal had a few mottle ducks buzz by. Hope every one had a good season looking forward to opening day of Phase I. Its time to get back to fishing.

Cloudy, Heavy Fog - 60-65 Degrees
Hunted the Big O again this past weekend. Due to the heavy fog light levels were poor. Did here some shooting in the area around me. Seems like the teal have pushed on and the diver numbers are down. Did have two mottled ducks decoy perfectly, able to take one down. I will give it one more try this upcoming weekend for one last hurrah. Good Luck to all.
