Data collection for the Annual Waterfowl Breeding and Habitat Survey will begin in just a few days. As ground and aerial teams embark on the most extensive wildlife survey conducted each year, Waterfowler.com reminds its readers that real-time updates and reporting are available to the public at FLYWWAYS.US. As the teams traverse the breeding grounds, readers can access updated reports, photographs and habitat reports throughout the data collection process. While we do relay the information here in summary format, if you want a front seat in the cockpit with the survey team for your breeding areas, visit FLYWAYS.US today.
Hello folks, and, as always, welcome to Waterfowler.com
May marks the mid-way point of the off-season and the quick, downhill slide to the early waterfowl seasons in September. While many haven’t even wet a line to do some fishing, the opening of the early goose and teal seasons are merely four months away.
That’s right, you have sixteen-weekends to get everything done before the first shots of the 2013-2014 are fired. From dog training to family vacations and honey-do chores those sixteen weeks will pass before you know it.
As we continue to settle into the new website format, we are also reminded that we have a few short months to activate additional features and eliminate the last few bugs in our interactive areas.
In addition to our regular features, Waterfowler.com Journal magazine is slated to return this year in digital format. At this time we are currently accepting submissions for the new magazine. Waterfowler.com is accepting both articles and photographs for publication and your submissions can be emailed to editor@waterfowler.com. Waterfowler.com is not budgeted to offer compensation for publishing submissions, so please do not submit works that require payment for publication. The deadline for submission into the premier digital issue is June 1, 2013.
Waterfowler.com would like to welcome Sitka Gear and Gore™ Optifade™ as returning sponsors to our website for 2013-2014 waterfowl season. Without their support and the support of our other advertisers, we would not be here today.
As always, we ask our readers to thank them for their support by visiting their websites and giving them an opportunity to earn your business.
Until our next report, visit a WFC sponsor today.
