MIGRATION UPDATE – November 23, 2005

Waterfowlers in portions of the US will have a little something extra to be thankful for over the holiday weekend. A Clipper System is driving across the Great Lakes and into the upper Atlantic Flyway putting ducks and geese on the move.

MIGRATION UPDATE – November 16, 2005

The cold air mass moving across the country has definitely put some birds on the move. Reports are streaming in from the Pacific to the Mississippi Flyways of a significant migration of big ducks and light geese. As the front moves east and cold weather remains in place for the middle of the country the push of birds should continue.

MIGRATION UPDATE –- November 11, 2005

The long awaited return of cold weather is here for many areas of the US and Canada. Freezing temps and localized snowfall have the potential to restart the stalled migration for many parts of the nation. It is a safe bet that this return to more normal weather will have birds on the move, so it might be time to cash in a few vacation days. In the mean time, remember to report your observation in the State-by-State Field Report areas and on the Waterfowler.com Migration Map.

The long awaited return of cold weather is here for many areas of the US and Canada. Freezing temps and localized snowfall have the potential to restart the stalled migration for many parts of the nation. Migration Update – October 27, 2005

After predictions of an early onset to cold weather, it now appears that the rush toward winter is on hold for much of the US. Though cooler weather has begun to move into some portions of the Nation, the overall weather picture has the migration backing up at the US/Canadian border.
