Posted By: BYU Guest Payetter 12-01-2005 00:56 – – – Well yesterday morning proved a limit of two green heads, One widgeon, one teal, and two spoonies. It was a good hunt. The birds came right in. This afternoon I got off early so I took off to the same area. Tons of new birds out. Tons of spoonies. When I was dressing my birds out the fat on the birds was a lot different from the locals. They must be birds from up North. Anyways, I set about 11 decs out at 4 and I was picking them up by 445. It was a fast hunt. I had a good time. There were a lot of birds. One flock after another of spoonies. I ended up with 4 spoonies and two widgeon. I have one flock of mallards sit on top of me, but i was pulling a downed… Continue reading

Posted By: Pudeldog Guest E. Oregon just a few miles from Ontario 11-14-2005 15:02 Mostly Cloudy, No Precipitation – 35-40 Degrees Did not sit over Deeks on Sunday, spent the day chasing Pheasants. But finally saw the ducks moving around. Probably saw 1000 ducks in the area, and that is a first for this season, on this end of the Treasure Valley. Hoping the weather cooperates for next weekend. Talked to some guys who hunted our blind on Sunday, and they saw more ducks in the air than they ever have. Tall Ducks moving East to West from the Snake to who knows where. Posted By: jefbet03 Field Editor Same as yesterday 01-06-2013 20:26 – – – Today wasn’t near as good. I think cooler temps, different winds, a smaller spread, and pressure from yesterday all played a factor. 2 geese came in and I pulled both of those and that was it. We had one big bunch act like they wanted in but on the final approach they changed their minds. Something we had going on flared them. We still seem A LOT but it was hard pulling them today! Thats all for my 2012 season! No problem Mark, it was a great time. Glad we could do it. Dont forget about me when it comes time to play in the mud and chase them devil birds! Until Spring time…….Have a great winter folks, JB! Posted By: klobkilzduk Web Member on the X 01-06-2013 12:42 – – – That was pretty cool huh?… Continue reading

Posted By: jefbet03 Field Editor 12-26-2012 18:02 – – – I have finally located an “X” with good amounts of geese working it. The farmer told me today that they seem to be working in the mornings and evenings. Our crew is planning to get after them on Sunday…..hope for the best! Posted By: 14ducks Web Member 12-22-2012 20:48 – – – TR: I use the refuge counts and harvest information for several things. By tracking the refuge counts over many years and using personal observation(and many calls from others) I can piece together the exact migration days. It’s the only way to do it unless you are out everyday and learn to trust certain individuals reports helps too. I do use the radar systems to track migrations too but precipitation nixs that and you know something is migration but it could be commorants. I would like the harvest reports… Continue reading

Noone is passing judgement. – Jon, I’ve been reading your posts since I’ve been a member on this website. I enjoy reading your posts. You are one of the few that comes here in June and says, “took dog for a walk down levees……saw X amount of acres of crops…..water levels are at such n such….blah, blah, blah….”. I appreciate your time and posts. Another reason I like them is because they all sound genuine. I can tell you’re not the guy comin on here lying, trying to impress others, blowin smoke up people’s aSS, etc. BUT, and please don’t be offended……This lease you’ve been a part of for the last several years has been a bust!! I defy you to go thru however many years worth of… Continue reading

Hoping to lure something in. Not to be. Saw 4 divers low over the water and that was it. Solid ice back of coves but that should melt. No reason to even go out duck hunting.
