He has only killed whitetails over there though, no sanbar deer. All i can tell is that it is hard hunting, no transportation, going in by boat, and if it is hot MOSQUITOS the size of dove. Again i have never been there hunting, i have just heard all of the stories of the people that have been there. I would probably go to the trouble of making the trip for a Sanbar deer but not for a whitetail, you have bigger deer in Eufaula than down there. Posted By: willdeem Guest merritt island 01-23-2005 17:03 Cloudy, Heavy Fog – 60-65 Degrees hunted peacocks pocket saturday. Set up in a stick marsh and about 0600 the fog rolled in. Couldn’t hardly even see some of my dekes. got buzzed at shooting time by teals. Wildest time I ever had-couldn’t see the birds until they were within 35-40 yards, and then it how fast could you shoot. Saw lots of ducks, mostly teal, but got buzzed by a flight of wigeons when I went to collect a bird that an eagle wanted. Even shot one in the butt after he buzzed my partner and I was kneeling in the mud, he flew right over me, and I nailed him going away. Best hunt I ever had in florida.
