Wyoming Duck and Goose Hunting Report Archive

Posted By: yogibear Guest Goshen 02-25-2007 20:11 – – – Went looking for snows today, put alot of miles on and never saw any. I heard of someone getting 6 or 7 out by Silver Tip the other day, but I really don’t think we have any major numbers here yet. When they get here in good numbers, they usually fly over torrington to feed north of town. Hopefully they start showing up this next week. Posted By: yogibear Guest Goshen 02-23-2007 20:06 – – – I live in Torrington and haven’t heard of any arriving yet. Hunted near Sterling, Co last weekend and saw several hundred there, so it shouldn’t be much longer. I’m gonna go take a drive and scout this weekend, will post my findings. If anyone needs any help on a hunt, I would be happy to give a hand. I don’t have any snow decoys… Continue reading

Posted By: yogibear Guest goshen 01-13-2007 19:38 – – – Didn’t brave the cold today, gonna go set up for geese tommorrow, should be a nice warm day, yeah right. Mulket – you raised some excellent points with your post. Having a protected (refuge) pond in the middle of a bunch of public hunting waters and land open for both waterfowl and pheasant hunting has never made much sense to me. However I also know having public land to hunt for waterfowl is rare and welcome in Goshen county. I really don’t know what the answer is, but the MAJOR issue we have is with the water, or lack thereof. What can we all do to get water into Table, Springer, and Bump. Granted the weather has been pretty wierd this year, but I know we have had many, many pushes of geese fly right on by because of the… Continue reading

Posted By: glaubsgoose Guest Hawksprings 01-07-2007 01:36 – – – Sorry about the misspelling I hit a the wrong key and seen it after I posted it this matter just p–ses me off respect others or pay the cost. We Hunters need to get together and do something about this. Do you know it is illegal to pass shot or shy bust it is just to hard to prove in court now with Video cams out there I think I will start taken it just to get these sky busters tape for the prof look in the REGS. see the part with the geese at the end of the gun this tells you when to shot and when not to shot for steel shot. Again sorry about the mis key and spelling it just ticks me off and I write out of anger. Posted By: glaubsgoose Guest Hawkspings 01-07-2007 01:21… Continue reading

Posted By: IMAKADABULLCRAZY Guest Goshen 01-03-2007 10:47 Sunny & Clear, High Winds – 0-10 Degrees – Open Water Gentleman, Hunted this past weekend and the first day had a decent shoot and then two days later walking in the birds got up and did not come back. Your thoughts on if weather comes back will we get more birds? Posted By: Final Flight G3 Guest 01-02-2007 00:10 – – – man Puddle i kind of feel bad. I should have informed everyone about that. If it snows just a little bit and the wind blows a person wont get into Packerd till spring, unless you want to hike in. I probably wont go bird hunting again in WY until the snows come back though. I just dont belive that any of the birds that were there before the snow hung around or will come back. The snow was and is… Continue reading

Hopefully next weekend may have new birds, but not hopefull. One mallard bagged at appx 3:00 pm. Nothing moved prior to that. I did see two other small flocks afterward. Posted By: Palongbow Guest Zone 2 – Band report 01-14-2008 16:20 – – – The goose I bagged last week was banded in Hastings, Ontario this past summer. Posted By: Palongbow Guest Zone 2 12-22-2007 14:11 Cloudy, Winds Calm – 30-34 Degrees – Ice Anyone still hunt this state. I use to post here under waitinforwaves. Gave a little too much info about my hunts and spots I found and had all to myself for 15 years suddenly looked like the parking lot at a Mountaineer game. Last year, my 13 year old chocolate lab died in surgery the day before the late season started. Took the drive out of me. Turns out she was the duck hunter, I was just her friend with the boats. Anyway, I’m trying to get back into it and since I use the posts to scout in other states I hunt in, I thought I would see if I could get things started for WV again. Only saw about 2 dozen mallards and no geese in the same spot that held 200+… Continue reading

Posted By: waitinforwaves Guest Scouted Zone 2 11-25-2005 09:57 Cloudy, Accumulating Snow – 25-30 Degrees – Ice Anyone hunt the Zone 2 opener? I can’t believe they have a season now. Every useless day we have now is a day we don’t have in January. Even with a white Thanksgiving and small shallow waters freezing up, there were just a few ducks on the Tygart – probably local birds. I guarantee birds will be there in Janurary after Zone 2 ends. Anyone agree? Anyone know who we talk to about changing this? Posted By: LA4024 WFC Sponsor Greenbottom WMA 10-10-2005 09:34 Cloudy, Light Rain & Drizzle – 50-60 Degrees Only killed 2 woodies Saturday, saw about 15 total.
