Posted By: Paul-Cantrell Field Editor Mohawk River 12-27-2006 15:47 Mostly Cloudy, No Precipitation – 40-45 Degrees Ducks were flying pretty high this morning over the Mohawk but I managed to turn these two honkers around bring them in close. What a rush. The water levels are pretty high and there are potholes everywhere for the ducks to hide in. Seen some good flocks of Widgeon coming through and quite a few Mallards hanging out in the valley. /Paul Posted By: Casey-Huxoll Field Editor Boardman Area 12-27-2006 09:09 – – – It has been a great 2 weeks for goose hunters. I thought the weather wass going to be perfect. we had a light wind and snow with rain mixed in. But for some reason either the birds never got up off the river or they just didnt come my way. Because i saw the least amount of birds that i have seen all season. But i guess that is why they call it hunting. At least my dog and i got our first taste of a little weather this year. nothing like laying in a lay out blind for 4 hours getting snow piled up on your head. Well lets keep hunting them hard and shootem with there feet down. Posted By: Casey-Huxoll Field Editor new seeded wheat near Boardman 11-25-2006 18:14 Cloudy, High Winds – 35-40… Continue reading

Posted By: iluvlabs Guest All over 02-01-2011 10:03 – – – Well, another season has come and gone. As I sit in the house today, drinking coffee, spending time with the family and watching it snow, I am content with this past season. I shot more ducks on a personal level than I had in years past. I finished with 66 birds with 2 bands. Best part of all, is I killed birds in all parts of the state this year. I actually was able to shoot a limit of BWT on opening day of teal season, a first. I shot my first redhead. Saw tons of redhead and canvasbacks this year. Although I never saw… Continue reading

Posted By: Greenhound Web Member Southwest Oklahoma 01-05-2011 23:48 – – – Hello All, I’ve been waterfowling for 16 years, mostly in New Mexico and some in Louisiana. I’ve had some phenomenal hunts out here but I am moving to southwest Oklahoma next week. I’d like to start scouting the southwest part of the state for some places to hunt. Would anyone mind giving me a few leads? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Posted By: Aaron(Mingo)Milligan Field Editor 12-31-2010 12:20 – – – Numbers seem to be on the increase a little. I threw out two decoys on a string line and hunkered down on the bank. Right a legal… Continue reading
