I set up for the Canada’s today with that small moon last night. The ducks were nowhere to be found like I expected and the geese did not fly either for some reason. Gave it until 1030 which was worthless. The snows flow but at about 1000 Yards high. A little confused as to why nothing flew with the dark moon. Heard shooting towards the Leipsic but that was about it. Need some weather.

Saw very few ducks, although those we saw were large ducks. People at the Augustine impoundments and on the river seemed to be shooting.

A fair number of Canadas were in the water at first light. They did not decoy to us.

Hunted Prime Hook today. Only 5 parties showed up. The marsh was frozen solid, about 1 inch in the main ditch and 2 inches on the ponds. We killed 4 mallards and 1 black. (1 Mallard Drake Banded, 1 Mallard Hen Banded)

Sunny & Clear, High Winds – 35-40 Degrees
Large concentrations of Canada Geese are spread throughout Northern New Castle County. One of the larger concentrations are in the northern most area around route 92, while the other is predominately loafing around route 7/route 4. The residents are tending to attract high flying migrators and are hanging in areas that are in close proximity to industrial/commercial areas not condusive to hunting.

Finally a good weather day and a good hunt. Plenty of mallards in the air and coming in. Got our mallards and a few bonus blacks. All in all a good day.
