Posted By: bgallup Field Editor Mo River 10-26-2012 08:29 – – – Heading to the Mo River to scout up by Booneville this afternoon. Hope this cold front has pushed some ducks into the area. Just one more day! b Posted By: hannibal Web Member NW 10-24-2012 20:16 – – – Might actually get a little push of new birds this weekend. Looks like temps in the low 20’s in North Dakota!!! Posted By: bgallup Field Editor Home near columbia 10-23-2012 08:40 – – – Heard a bunch of Specklebelly’s flying over the house about 10 p.m. Saturday night. ben Posted By: bgallup Field Editor NE Mo 10-08-2012 15:44 – – – Second hand report from a friend in NE MO. He shared seeing several flocks of pintail and mallard over the weekend. Seems logical that there would be birds moving with the cold front. Our lake in Grundy County… Continue reading

Posted By: John-Donelon Field Editor Missouri 09-12-2012 13:38 – – – To clear my earlier post, silage are the fields that have been mowed down and stalks and whatever grain is left is in the fields, these are baited.Silage cut for agriculture use where the corn is harvested,it is legal to hunt these. These mowed fields are usually farmers who have collected crop insurance due to the drought. Hope this clears it up. Posted By: hannibal Web Member Makes Sense 09-11-2012 17:33 – – – That makes perfect sense. If they mow them down and don’t collect or harvest anything and leave it sitting in the field that is a no no for sure. Thanks Posted By: Drake Slayer Web Member 09-11-2012 06:47 – – – Silage fields are fine to hunt….AS Hannibal stated, been hunting those for years. Actually, cut silage leaves less grain behind then combined fields, as the stalk… Continue reading

Posted By: HonkerHotline Web Member West West West 12-08-2012 09:50 Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – 40-45 Degrees One last delayed hunting report….. Ended our season with a 4 day adventure chasing BIG Canadians. We were able to find fresh fields every day and the birds were hungry!!! In 4 days we shot 51 Honkers most of them within 25 yards. The largest weight was 18.6 pounds. We generally get one this late around the 20 pound mark, but 18 is still a huge bird. Our lab had a trouble dragging that one back to the blinds 🙂 As I mentioned in my last post, this was the best year of Minnesota waterfowling I have ever had. While talking to a youngster that came along with us on the trip we made sure to point out that he needs to cherish seasons this. With the amount of CRP that is… Continue reading

Tough conditions this AM, wind, rain, even snow while picking up. Maybe these high NW winds and cooler temps will cause some influx of birds. We’ll see what Friday brings. Sunday afternoon was a total bust. cold from pushed the birds out and no new ones in. Posted By: HonkerHotline Web Member Minnesota – Water 10-07-2012 11:42 Sunny & Clear, High Winds – 10-20 Degrees – Ice Ice, Ice, Baby!!!! Setup on a different small slough that had 75 or so birds on it last night. Pond was half froze over, but the water was open where I wanted to setup. Actually, helped eliminate birds from landing on the other end. The first shots heard were about 20 minutes into the morning… slow, slow, slow. Saw 1/16th of the birds that I did yesterday (which was not many). Ended the day with 4 greenwing teal… Continue reading
