Posted By: CFGadwall Guest Mobile Delta & Bay 01-09-2006 09:05 – – – At this point, this will go down as the worst season myself and my partner have had since I moved here in 1987. The hunting has gotten tough on the Delta & Bay. WIth the hurricane killing the grass beds on most of the upper bay & lower delta, the food supply is limited and the birds are concentrated in a few areas. They have been pressured so bad that it is almost impossible to get birds to come into a blind of any sort. Even the buffies are blind shy. If anyone is doing any good in the upper Delta, they sure are keeping quiet about it. From what started out as such a promising season certainly has fizzled. Posted By: Last Shot Guest North east Alabama 12-26-2005 20:11 Mostly Cloudy, No Precipitation – 45-50 Degrees First light, we had 6 mallards suck in perfectly inside decoys. knocked down three. 5 minutes later, 3 gads cuped in for their last landing. After that, NOTHING! We saw a total of 20 birds till 9:00a. No wind KIlls our spot, Oh well can’t complain, had an awesome day on Christmas. Hard to explain ducks moving all day and shuting down completely the next day. Just got off phone with ADCNRWF and they cannot pump since river is so low. The phase I is dry along with all other areas. Some water up close to the road, but not enough to lauch a boat.
