from mile marker 4 all the way up to agnes wilson…I know thats a lot of river but we’ve been moving every day trying to figure them out. We’ll be out Dec 26-31.. Probably hit Topock for a couple days then crit for the rest of the week. Did you scout the fields @ crit? we haven’t seen much in the fields all year.

Jotr,
I was out two weeks ago with my son…I only got a drake mallard & a gadwall on Friday, but Saturday Am we took 10 birds between us : 4 mallards, 3 widgeon, 2 goldeneye & 1 ringneck. There are tons of divers on the river right now: buffleheads, ringneck, goldeneye, etc… but not too many puddle ducks yet. We’ve been seeing geese almost every day out for the last month…things just haven’t worked out as far as taking any though. My dad & my friend Dave were out last weekend & got 3 mallards, 3widgeon & 1 ringneck between them for 2 days hunting. There you go.

TOPOCK FOR SURE ( PINTAIL) HA.HA.!!!!! 12-20-2004 12:01
Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – 60-65 Degrees
Saturday 12/18

Was a bule Bird weekend… Should had played golf. First one in this AM. Havn’t shot the honey hole for two weeks, was looking foward to a great shoot. Took six dozen dekes. Man was I wrong. Things started out well, droppped the very frist and second one at day break GW Teal and hen mallard, after that all spoonies, was only shooting them to shoot. Never seen so many. Brids were still flying great but not coming in the honey hole. I guess the guys have hunted it day in and day out over the last two weeks. Most of the widgen have left, all gadwall and teal and some real mature PINTAILS.

At about 12pm all the birds got up and headed toward 5 mile and catfish (hunderds), should have know something was up because 10 mins. later the fish and game came by to check our lic. and ect. NO tickets this time!!!!!!

Leaving for South Carolina wed 12/22 and back on the 29 then to San Diego for the NEW Year. going to try to hunt those few day before going San Diego. So every one have a Merry Christmas.

Curdawg-
Sounds as if Topac has been good. Drew and I hunted Lyman lake last weekend. About 150 honkers there. Had 50 or so start to set until guys next to us skybusted. They had no decoys out. Typical part timers.
Going to Northern Cal this weekend. Buddy has a private lease up by Collusa. Specs and snows have been very good. Should be a fun weekend.
Will have to get up your way soon.

Curdawg, are the canadians workable or are most of them just passing thru or is everybody skybusting them. Where have you been hunting at in topock?
