Rembo, Took a party of six into CRIT Fri. for a Sat. Sun morning hunt. Very MUDDY as you know. Could not get around to do much field hunting as all the fields were full of rainwater. Concentratd on river activies. Been a while since I’ve seen the river that low. As you mentioned, to many gravel bars available. Lots of popcorn eaters at the at the parks and housing areas. Did manage to collect up 25 mixed birds, a few big guys, but mostly mediums and teal. Wasted our time setting up decoys, and we set big spreads at 4 different spots. Next stop for us. NEBRASKA start there on march 3. still got a few spots open march 10-13. come on along. send me a message back @ fowlplayhunting@aol.com if you have any interest. All done in Az. best of luck,

Dan Perry

Hunted Crit Fri & Sat by myself for only 2 widgeon & 1 ringneck. Birds are definetly call & decoy shy, plus with the river so low , they have way too many “sanctuaries ” on exposed sandbars / islands to loaf on in front of campgrounds / trailer parks, etc… We’ll need new birds for it to improve or it will be pass shooting divers from here on out.

anyone shoot the cibola marsh lately?…the local newspaper said that there’s hunters that have been successfully setting up their decoys on the “sand bars in the river adjacent to the refuge”…isn’t this illegal to hunt the river in this area????thanks…salton sea man
