Some fresh Gadwall showed up today on a pond here in town. I hope there are many more behind them.

Way to go labs! I only went Sunday morning and did not see anything, but I had some pics on my camera and everything was coming in really late at night. Maybe the full moon. I did hear a few Woodies on the pond nearby, but figure they are local ducks.

While deer hunting the last few days I have been seeing about 30 GWT hitting a pond by my stand. Other than that, haven’t seen much yet.
Oh yeah, I shot a nice little doe there this morning. Backstrap fever baby!!!

Checked a few local ponds today. Saw a couple of Woodies on one and a half-dozen Gadwall on another. Not much around right now. Hope we get a good front in the next week or two.

Finally made SODAK, holing up here for a few days to shoot pheasants. Just had the best hunt of all time in the North. Birds were extremely hard to get on as it was hot and the crop conditions were not very good, however, once we got under them, HOLY COW. Was another wonderful year in Canada.

OK, um so, shot a few last weekend. Not nearly the number of birds as in the past, but I get reports that the numbers have been up the past few days.
Just got back from Wyoming last night. Took a doe antelope and a very average mule deer. Still it was my first mulie, so I has happy with it.
Still the big story is that 30 minutes into opening day I had an easy shot at a really huge whitetail. I’m talking 150 in buck, split G2 and G3. Deer of a lifetime. I hesitated thinking I came all this was to kill a mulie. Didn’t shoot. Never saw a mulie half as big. Oh well……..

No dice on teal last weekend but did get a flyby by a flock of spoonies! That blue wing patch almost did them in until I caught the profile of them lips.
