Cold…. It got cold over the weekend and we even got a little snow.. Should make for some good hunting in the weeks to come.
Didnt have as good of a weekend as i hoped but that is hunting. you cant kill them all all the time.

McCormick seems to be a little froze right now as well as the river blinds. Just glassing off of my farm looks like the ice is out about 100 yards from the shore. And with the forcast being colder and more snow wed. night and thursday i think it will be almost not worth a hunt down there. The ducks should be going to corn if you can find a field with ducks hitting it should be a pretty good hunt.

Geese seem to be hitting green fields. alfalfa mainly on my farm could be because that is the only thing that sticks up over the snow. We dont have much corn still standing or they may be there.

Good luck to everyone and stay warm.

Cloudy, Snow & Rain Mix – 30-34 Degrees – Open Water
Not as many birds as we would have liked, pulled 2 limits in about 4 hrs of hunting. Had to work. The river is very low, so running a jet boat is very dangerous. Be carefull. Mostly mallards. We are getting snow, so hope this fires things up.

Hunted all morning three of us shot six ducks and one cackler. Not many birds down here yet either hoping this weather will get some new birds.

Well we’re finally getting some cold weather. Up to know its been fairly slow for me. A fe birds here and there, scratching out one of two but nothing to really get excited about. I was really hoping for cold and snow this morning just to break up the boredom. Most exciting thing I’ve done is regrass my boat. Too bad its sitting in the barn.

Same thing week after week to nice of weather. Went out yesterday with a buddy of mine hunted until about eleven seen birds early before shooting and very few after. Ended up with a mallard, gw teal, woody and a hooded merganser. Usually let the fish ducks live but the dog needed to get another retreive.

Sunny & Clear, Morning Fog – 50-60 Degrees
Well, we hit the river in the boat this past weekend. Since we haven’t had much weather I didn’t expect many birds. I was pleasantly surprised. We hunted 3 days in row over the holiday and did surprisingly well. There was quite a few birds on the river, mostly Mallards and Widgeon. Lots of valley geese flying. I can’t wait to get back too it this week. On a side note, check out Cabela’s, they got a great sale going. I just ordered a new blind for the boat, can’t wait for it to arrive. Have fun out there….

Huntedd around my farm the last 5 days with pretty good success Limmited out every day but Saturday. the darn fog just wouldnt give us a break.

But i have been seeing tons of geese. More than normal for this time of year. Usually i am picking up a few here and there but it has been just outstanding.

Hopefully the birds will keep moving down through the basin and hopefully we will get some good hunting weather(rain snow cold)

Well i think it is a good time to get out there and kill limmits before ponds start feezing up in the next few weeks.

For goose hunting look to the fields. Geese ar hitting the corn pretty hard right now. I expect if it warms up they will go back to the winter wheat. but if it turns off cold they will continue hitting the corn through the end of season.

good luck and shootem with there legs down.

Hunted thanksgiving as we had a great morning. 14 birds for 2 guys in about 45 minutes. I thought that would be the turning point. Mostly widgeon. we did get a few ringneck. Saturday the 29th. warm 60 degrees. Not good. we scraped 13 birds between 3 guys. We did not see lots of birds, the ones we did died. We need cold weather to arrive soon.

Just got back from a ND pheasant trip and put a goose hunt together on sat. 3 of us ended with 2 specks 6 cans 7 snows and a Greenhead.

Seems while i was gone a bunch of new birds have moved into the area. I think the migration is on. I hear a good amount of shooting from McCormick slough on sat as well as sun.
There is still a big group of snow hanging around wich is unusual for this time of year. But i have been seeing more snow every year. I guess this is why they are letting us shoot 6 each.

Well i think as long as it stays cold and the fog moves on. We have been in a fog bank since sunday morning. it should make for a very succesfull thanksgiving weekend.

Good luck to everyone and happy holidays.
