Sunny & Clear, High Winds – 0-10 Degrees – Open Water
Gentleman, Hunted this past weekend and the first day had a decent shoot and then two days later walking in the birds got up and did not come back. Your thoughts on if weather comes back will we get more birds?

man Puddle i kind of feel bad. I should have informed everyone about that. If it snows just a little bit and the wind blows a person wont get into Packerd till spring, unless you want to hike in. I probably wont go bird hunting again in WY until the snows come back though. I just dont belive that any of the birds that were there before the snow hung around or will come back. The snow was and is still to deep. Its to bad but what can ya do? Hopefully we keep getting the moisture and it will fill some of the ponds up around Goshen County. Thats all I have to say about that.

Man, it is dead on the Wyoming reports, no one hunting. Went to Colorado over the holidays and just totally smashed the geese. River here is spotty. Lots of ducks but they are leaving the refuge and head west and north, so Rawhide is pretty slow. Went for a ride out by Yoder Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:30 pm, and never saw ONE goose. The few geese we have are on the river. If we don’t get some new geese soon, I will be heading to Colorado again, although with all the snow down there, don’t know how much longer they will stay there. We need some weather up north for a new push of birds. Happy new year.

Hunted the river yesterday and defintely more ducks than in the past, however did not get many to decoy. Saw big flocks of geese heading in all directions and again the same story with no luck getting any to come in.

Ya that would be good if you could post up puddle, because I dont know the next time I’ll be up there. Plus We didnt really get to hunt Friday so we were’nt out in the field all day to see the geese flying around. So we could have simply missed them. Let us know what you see that would be greatly appriciated. Good luck to you man!! Hope you kill some in Goshen.

Man this weather really screwed things up. We could not even get to our hunting spot over by Yoder on Friday because the snow was so deep and drifted. Needless to say we didnt even see any geese from Hawk Springs to just about Torrington. Yesterday we went to the river. There are a few birds hanging around there but the didnt want water they were going to the fields didnt fire a shot. When we got done yesterday we went driving around Yoder and Hawk Springs and still didnt see any geese. Iam a bit worried that this could be the begining of the end for this season. we’ll keep at em and see what happens. Good luck to all.

Snowing and blowing here in Torrington right now. I don’t have a clue what this is going to do with the birds since this storm moved in from the south?? Darth Wader – I hope the geese get here for you in January too. There are a few river geese but many have supposedly moved on in the last week. I haven’t hunted the river lately – but I have 5 days off next week and plan on hitting it on the river and at my goose spots every day I’m off. Going to colorado for Christmas and to hunt. I know there is a ton of geese there, or at least there was before the storm. Everyone stay safe and warm, and happy holidays.
