Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – 50-60 Degrees
SAturday morning: had two ducks fly in on which we killed (merganser and ringer) and managed to put the Rambo staulk on a goose and tore it up. This place usually has geese and ducks flying in every direction. These ducks/goose that we shot were the only ones we saw..this is terrible
MLK- hunted what we thought was one of our better places (just by eying it) and we never saw a duck or goose…about to hang it up you guys…

Cloudy, Winds Calm – 60-65 Degrees
Hunted and scouted with friend and son last two days at their honey hole. Yesterday Ducks worked, fair numbers. Called in flock of 15 geese and nearby hunters sky busted as they were setting up on us, we Killed one. Saw lots of Geese in area decided to hunt it again on MLK day.
MLK day were set up in right spot this time, but other than early morning woodies flying just out of range, the ducks dissapeared. We did kill three huge Canada Geese early and Tried to backshoot Geese returning from morning feeding at 11:00AM but wind shifted and they came right over top of us too high and think they saw us. Tried Tolling them with dog and got them into range to take one.

Will let area rest for rest of week. Is beautiful spot.

I don’t post very often but since it is so slow. My Cobb co. goose killing spot is shut down. The owner I hunted with is gone to Jekyl island for Jan. to hunt the coast. I spend most of the season hunting in west Ala. with friends out of Tuscaloosa. Last weekend we shot in the rain came away with 1 teal 3 woodies. The next day the first 0 for the year. New Years weekend we ended up with 18 among 4 guns spread over 3 days. 3 mallards the rest were woodies. For Alabama 18 is a good weekend but it doesn’t hold a dim bulb to all the banging were heard up the river. We also yanked the trip to Arkansas last weekend first time in about 10-12 years I haven’t been to Ark.

hit the private marsh friday morning. eight hunters killed 38 birds. Had about 6 species also with teal, gadwall, mallard, spoony, ringers and mergs. man was it fun. i must have shot almost 2 boxes of shells. big change from hunting over here. course it still was 65 degrees.

hunted saturday morning and we scratched out 4 woodies between 5 of us. should have done better but still very fun.
