Cloudy, Light Rain & Drizzle – 50-60 Degrees
Today I could not hunt but I graciously allowed my friend Capt Dave Bitters of Baymen Outfitters to use the blind with a guest. The woodies were abundant and coming in well. They bagged 3. One mallard was also taken over the dekes. More mallards decoyed well but were missed. One large flock of geese passed over the pond twice but just out of range.

I wish I could’ve been there but was glad to have the guys use the blind and do well.

I was able to get out for a 2 hour bowhunt this afternoon, quite warm. Did see a doe with fawn at last light, no shot.

Hunted sea ducks Saturday. Did not see many. Hopefully, they are still coming down. Got 1 Eider. Missed a couple more. Good Luck out there.

Well, not a banner opener for me but did manage a mallard hen. Missed bad on a triple that came in as well.

Lots of woodies around but they were opting for the other hole . A few teal around as well. All of the activity was at first light (obviously, due to the weather) but bringing home one bird is better than none.

Driving to work this morning (S.E. MA)saw several flocks of Canadas, each flock several hundred birds strong. Monday should be fun.

O.K. Sept. season results 9/9: 2 hunters 7 birds on the CT river, 9/13 NY state 2 hunters cut corn 16 birds 1 band from Pennsville,NJ,9/16 NY state just myself cut corn 8 birds, 9/23 NY state 2 hunters 16 birds cut corn, 9/24 NY state Jr. hunter and myself 3 geese and no ducks cut corn. Best hunt was the Jr. hunt just watching him enjoy and him thinking life could get no better than this. Safe hunting and great luck to everyone this season.
