HEY! I responded to post by Target as well as a gentleman out of Las Vegas. We found on this trip that this guy was beyond BS. He just Lies. Have hunted most mid-west states Miss, LA Ark, for years. Three times to So America. Goose hunt Oregon allmost every week end Mid Nov thru season close, and am 60 yrs old. I have hunted a bunch. Worst trip ever, if you throw out two tours in Nam. Lucky all came home alive. Lucky the Wardens gave our guns back. If you want all the details you just need to ask. Been home 5 days and still so mad it would take a novel to tell you about this clown. It would make a great article for Waterfowler on who not to go with, and what not to do. It does not matter what queations you ask, if the answers were Lies.

Cloudy, Winds Calm – 50-60 Degrees
Nice opening day to duck hunt with a decent breeze, however, the birds did not really cooperate. The shooting seemed to end around 8 am, which it usually will last through the morning on the opener. The guys with boats seemed to do ok, but not a hot opener! Hope to get out this weekend.

well hunted fallon opening day we say a good amount of birds and limited out on saturday. i think the weather kept most of the fair weather hunters at home. we had rain on saturday with some wind but it cleared up after mid morning.
stillwater looked great compaired to last year most guy’s got limits but some didn’t ” do your homework!!”. on sunday toulon had some hunters we did get some shooting and saw a fair amount of birds if you hunt from the shore be extremely careful of the sink holes that are out there. until next week good lucky and go out and take em.

Cloudy, Light Rain & Drizzle – 50-60 Degrees
Spent three days last week hunting waterfowl in Alberta near Edmonton. High number of ducks still in central Alberta. They haven’t started to move yet, especially with tremendous habitat in the area. Edmonton had 21 inches of rain over the summer, and there was water and food everywhere. The farmers can’t get into their fields due to the mud, and the ducks are feasting on the grain and peas laying on the ground. Ducks Unlimited staff are looking for a great hatch next year with even average winter precipitation, since the soil moisture content is high and the frost seal needed for spring runoff should be excellent. With good weather patterns, we should see the numbers of fat ducks in Nevada increase as the fall winds on.

Looking for 1-2 quality hunters who are interested in an adventure of a lifetime hunting ducks, geese and upland game in Alberta and Saskatchewan from Sept. 23 to Oct. 9. Departing Sacramento Fri. 9/23 and returning Sun. 10/9. Driving a fullsize Ford crewcab with room for 4 plus dogs, gear, etc. Opportunity is available because two of our regular guys had to cancel out this year due to family commitments. All equipment is provided(boats, motors, decoys, blinds, etc.) and is stored at our two locations in AB and SK. We have been doing this every year for the past 6 years. The cost is nominal to say the least and all you need is your personal gear, guns, ammo, and dog if you have one, etc. You are responsible for sharing in the cost of fuel and paying your portion of lodging, meals and miscellaneous items. We field hunt for geese(canadas/specs/snows) and marsh hunt for ducks(mallards, pintails, cans, redheads, bluebills, etc.) Daily limit is 8 geese/8 ducks….16/16 possession. WE WILL PICK YOU UP ON OUR WAY THRU NEVADA. Please send me a private message if you are seriously interested.

To Jack on the Rocks and Desert Ducks. First to Jack on the Rocks: Great to hear that you are going to the volunteer recruitment/appreciation event in Las Vegas. We are holding similar events in Elko on the 25th, and Reno on the 30th, both of which I am planning to attend. Three in one week was more than my schedule could handle, so I won’t make it to yours. Hope you have a good time. I know that Clark County has several events that they are looking for more volunteers – Mesquite, Boulder City, Las Vegas Flappers, a Las Vegas sponsor event, and the main Las Vegas banquet. Clark County has so much potential for raising huge money for the ducks, that it is one of our focus areas for big growth.

To Desert Ducks: I’m not sure what you mean by a “Mallard Restriction Project”. It is our policy never to restrict mallards from coming in to your decoys. Coots are a different story. Seriously, in the Lahontan Valley the newest project we are commencing is on the Desert Gun Club near Hazen, though I have no specifics as to exactly what wetland enhancement is being planned. We have done work in the past at Stillwater and the Canvasback. Give me some more info on your inquiry, and I’ll get back to you.
