Moved to Northern Illinois to be near the upper Mississippi River Refuge and all of the great hunting. Incredible numbers of Canadas and puddle ducks. Filled out by 8:15 on both. Four mallard drakes and two gadwalls, and a limit of geese. Chewy and I just sat and watched the show for a couple more hours as the birds just covered the river. Most of the shallow water is completely frozen, including the refuges, and the open river is the only option unless they go… Continue reading
