Shot one spooner and a teal and pretty much suntanned the rest of the day. Very few birds / shots in the area at all. Need a front to perk things up around this area. If anyone plans to go out and would like info on individual pond condidions, shoot a PM to me and I’ll let you know. Last night they were in the barley and I was in the corn. This morning, I set up in the barley and they wanted to be in the corn!!!! Thats hunting I guess. I… Continue reading

Posted By: Jeff Colwell Guest East of Windsor 10-06-2007 16:26 Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – 50-60 Degrees Hunted the opener today and had a fantastic shoot, had to spook off about 100 before shooting hours as to not crack at them in one bird educating mess. They returned to our sheet water with abandon and it didn’t take long to collect a two man limit, although it was not as leisure of a pace as I was hoping, was surprised at the amount of mallards,we ended up with 8 greenies, two gadwall, and two bluewings. The teal were like flies and also had that report from two other groups, one in Ft. Lupton east and one west of Brighton. Both of these guys filled up with 18 for each group but few mallards so I must have had a mallard hotspot I guess.I watched twelve get taken this morning but haven’t had my licks yet but have a… Continue reading

Posted By: Towens Guest 03-07-2007 21:03 – – – VH, There are snows that sit in the Brush area year round. Weird I know but they don’t leave, but then again the roost never freezes. Now there is fluctuation in numbers throughout the season, but there always seems to be some hanging around. I usually see the most in November and February through March. Travis [Edited By Towens on 2007-03-07 21:04] Posted By: VH Guest 03-06-2007 14:05 – – – Towens, Do you see snows in Brush on a regular basis? If so what is the average flock size? Thanks, VH Posted By: Towens Guest Brush 03-04-2007 19:04 Sunny & Clear, High Winds – 35-40 Degrees For all you snow goose hunters out there I have a report. Posted By: Towens Guest Morgan County, Brush 02-11-2007 20:12 Sunny & Clear, Morning Fog – 35-40 Degrees Left for the field friday after school and did a little pass shooting with my father. That evening we took 2 specs and a nice honker. Saturday morning came around and it was foggy, but it helped us in the long run. set up 3 dozen HC’s and waited. Saw and heard tons of birds. Had about 10 snows sneek in at about 35 yards and didn’t get a shot off, however we managed to limit by 10:30 with a bonus snow. Hunted sunday and it was pretty slow, saw tons of birds but just couldn’t get any to finish. Shot 4 canadas and called it quits. Saw one of our fields full of geese, so that’s where i will be next weekend. There are ten’s of thousands of geese in the brush… Continue reading
