Posted By: Joseph-Morzinski Guest Off-Season 06-13-2007 14:23 – – – Well, we’re headed to the ‘dog days’ of Summer, but this is the time to review stuff that was good or bad about last season, do some scouting at old places or find some new ones, keep your eye in tune at the shotgun range, repair or buy new ‘duck stuff’, work with your dog, repair/work on blinds, practice your duck and goose calling, make notes on who to call for private land access, maybe line up some new hunting buddies for this season (and maybe drop that one that keeps skybusting and almost shot you last year)—anyhow, lots of fun stuff to think about and do this time of year — the OFF-SEASON.. Posted By: Joseph-Morzinski Guest Layton 11-25-2006 21:41 – – – Hey Ronster — good info on the snipes, and if they ain’t making that “scrape, scrape” sound, I DON’T SHOOT. I have seen biger flocks of the dowitchers, there definitely is a “peep, peep” sound to them..snipe are definitely worth trying for; formidable target, and mighty tasty on the table.. got out Thanksgiving A.M. and did alright in the wind on teal for a couple hours..no big birds, but the teal cooperated that morning, and my dog did well…hope you can get out next week Mon, Tues, or Wed, as I think we’d be in for a treat with the changing weather, if we could get out…anyhow, good luck and CUL — JOE Posted By: ronster Web Member South Shore Wetlands 11-18-2006 17:34 Mostly Sunny, No Precipitation – 40-45 Degrees Joe & All, Probably you know this but I’ll mention… Continue reading

Posted By: Braden-Mitchell Web Member Albertsons Pharmacy in Layton 10-16-2006 23:30 – – – Joe – I am jealous. I was stuck at work today. I could see the people coming in covered with rain and complaining about the wind and I knew that the birds would be flying. I have not had any problems with the lower case letters. I have not been out since the opener, but I am hoping to slip out soon. It is good to hear that I am not the only one that seems to have less than spectacular openers. I am a big fan of moving the youth hunt to 2 weeks before the regular season. I am not very familiar with Farmington bay. I have been there a few times. Where do you hunt out there? Take care and keep your face down,Braden [Edited By Braden-Mitchell on 2006-10-16 23:31] [Edited By Braden-Mitchell… Continue reading

Posted By: tana Guest Area west of Farmington Bay closed? 08-31-2006 12:03 – – – I was reading one of the posts and apparently they have closed the area in Centerville through Farmington for the Legacy project. Not only does that suck but it is going to change my opening day plans…Are some of the entrances that lead to the bay closed? Another issue…..lots of geese. Getting excited. Looking forward to Cabelas this weekend. Posted By: silverkitten73 Guest Sounds like lot’s Of Northerners in Idaho 12-14-2005 12:53 – – – Was just looking at the reports from Idaho. Sounds like they have a bunch of new Mallards they are seeing in their area. Not sure what it will take to get them into Utah. My membership expires tomorrow. Not sure I am going to renew as the Utah hunters are not posting on here any more like thay have in years past. Posted By: Braden-Mitchell Web Member Locomotive Springs 12-07-2005 19:33 Cloudy, Winds Calm – 10-20 Degrees – Ice We made the trek to Locomotive Springs on Tuesday morning. We jumped large flocks of ducks and geese off of one of the springs. All of the ducks and some of the geese actually jumped first, but we could still hear some geese so we kept sneaking. The geese jumped at about 50 or 60… Continue reading
