Cloudy, Occassional Rain Showers – Over 70 Degrees
had a decent shoot on saturday after returning from my prior engagements, shot some teal blackheads and could have had a few big ducks but passed on the shots due to shooting time . did not see anywhere near the numbers reported by friends as the teal caught that high northeast wind and headed south. heard of bluewings being killed by friends on friday but they were no where to be found on satuday.

Not many big ducks at all in the area so far. Decent numbers of teal and a few wood ducks around. Heard a lot of shooting towards the Leipsic but not as much as you would think for an opening weekend. We need it to get colder to get some real ducks here.

While deer hunting Thursday had a nice “scouting” of the Prime Hook area. No water but quite a few birds. Mostly woodies and teal in the AM with a mix of Canadas and snows. Saw more new birds move in with the blow yesterday. I have attached a link to a very concerning article:

Hunted for some reason that I don’t know this morning. Saw about ten teal and a couple hundred big ducks. Only three parties out and no shots heard anywhere. I am done with the early teal season I think.

went out saturday morning with some friends and managed 3 birds. did not see many teal and only a small amount of local mallards and blacks, overall it was a great morning with friends but a moderately successful teal shoot.
