Woodland Beach WMA is filthy with birds.

I second what Mike said. I was gonna post pretty much the same thing. Took a ride around mid day and saw litterly THOUSANDS of duck and geese flying in and just around our field! Everywhere up and down rt 9 around woodland and Bombay was loaded with birds. In the air and in the fields. Mallards, pintails, black ducks, canadas, and snow geese. Amazing! I personally have never seen what I saw yesterday, what an amazing sight!

Took a normal Sunday drive to check out some waterfowl sites and it was a very lively ride. Ducks and Geese everywhere. Several thousand Canadas sitting in the fields by Valero at the intersection of rt.9 and rt. 72. They were joined by several hundred mallards and blacks. The whole way down rt. 9 to bombay hook, every field was loaded with ducks and geese. There were no empty fields and there were also thousands of snow geese. Some very nice sights to say the least. If only this weather came a month ago.

Took a ride around to check things out and like every year at this times birds were everywhere. You name is and it was flying and sitting in and around all the fields. Many big groups of Canadas along with snows and black ducks. I didnt see any mallards in the field but I am sure they were there. The black ducks were sitting with the snow geese so it was easy to pick them out. They were very close to the road which was surprising but would get up when I drove passed.

When I’ve hunted with Jerry in past years it’s been all windsocks. Has he changed over completely to full bodies?

And yes–he does put you on the birds!

Joined Jerry @ Delbay Guide service for a snowgoose hunt this past Saturday (2/3/07).

He really put us on the snow geese. We hadwaves andwaves of birds over the 1500+ fullbody GHG snow goose decoys all day with seemingly non stop action…the wind made the shooting pretty tough, but I managed to break into my 3rd boxof shells before theday was through!

A great day washad by all, and we tallied 45 birds!!!

It was a great hunt, and I hope to get out there again while heis still on them…

hunted the last weekend for brant and did very well. had our groups limit and was home by noon. saw large groups of birds and had them work the rig like a champ. I figure they were new birds by the way they worked. overall it was a different year to say the least, I look for a lot of drastic changes either made or certainly called for by the waterfowl community whether they are called for or not, just because most people had an awful season everyone will want to push the days back and whine and cry about this or that, chalk it up to another year and hope everyone learned something about the waterfowling around here, I know I did,

its on to snow chickens now until march, good luck to all

Took a ride yesterday on Rt. 9 from Delaware City to Leipsic and there were tons of birds moving. Typical since the season is over. Ducks were flying around everywhere along with big groups of dark geese. Only saw one big group of Snows and it was in a field in the Taylors Bridge area. This season was a bust for me, having a green field with long grass didnt help us too much. We always have never year.
