Posted By: kevin-roach Guest Northeast Ga. / Ark. 07-09-2007 10:37 Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – Over 70 Degrees How’s everyones summer going. I’m new to the vfe and will be letting eveyone know whats happen’n in northeast ga. I hunt around carnesville, lavonia, hartwell lake. Also provide guide service (huntprooutfitters.com) in ne ark. and nw missouri. Right know all swamps in the area are dry as a bone, so doing alot of planting for the season. Have seen some sightings on lake hartwell. Lots of geese with some ducklings also. The doctors place has been planted as well. During the hunting season best hunts are around the darn, and behind it in the river. Lots of coves. When the doc. shots the lake and river become loaded. Feel free to drop me a message if you have any ?. Thanks Posted By: Bryan-Fobbus Field Editor Houston County 06-07-2007 10:37… Continue reading

Posted By: Paul-Slovisky Field Editor 03-22-2007 05:12 – – – saw a whole bunch of divers, mostly ringers, up near gainesville yesterday. would have been nice to see them during the season but still cool to sit and watch for a bit. of course the geese area everywhere i go. won’t be long before they start having new little excrement factories following them around. HA!. Posted By: Paul-Slovisky Field Editor 02-23-2007 05:21 – – – saw a bunch of sandhills the other day. They were pretty low and looked understandably confused. I think our weather patterns have even them messed up. Posted By: Paul-Slovisky Field Editor cherokee 12-11-2006 05:26 – – – got a yard pass sunday morning to hit the lake for a short trip. killed one merg. could have killed a second but let him swim in the decoys a bit then head on his way. Surprised at the lack of birds down with this latest cold front. Only saw one group of buffies and one group of gaddies. the rest (mallards)and mergs had to be locals. did get to watch about 1000 sandhill cranes that were roosted on the lake about 300-400 yards from my set up. those things are really big. Posted By: Paul-Slovisky Field Editor west alabama 11-27-2006 05:21 – – – Friday morning was kind of a bust. only ended up with one woodie. Saturday morning we busted a drake greenhead, 3 woodies and a merg. not a bad opener for alabama considering it was 75, bluebird days and full of mosquitos. Posted By: Chris-Hardin Web Member Alabama – Logan Martin 11-26-2006 19:49 Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – 50-60 Degrees Friday morning we ended up with 2 hen mallards from Logan Martin- plenty of birds flying and freakin’ boats ripping up and down the river- there was a huge fish tournament which kinda screwed us. Friday evening we hunted a local swamp and busted 2 mergansers and a woodie… Some of my buddies went to G’ville for the opener and busted 9 including 2 Canvasbacks! Hopefully the bird numbers stay up for the season. Not hearing much from some of you guys. I guess early season got over looked due to the football and deer seasons. Marc you not hunting this early season. Usually you are good for making the rest of us look like beginners with some of your bags. How was ocilla?
