Posted By: Bill Erhart Field Editor Smyrna 11-27-2008 18:28 Sunny & Clear, Winds Calm – 30-34 Degrees – Ice The usual number of snows too high to bother with. Large numbers of Canadas, mostly flying from the North to the South towards the prison. Generally showed no interest in our spread. Moderate numbers of Mallards. Most showed great caution and one had to remain completely still and call very softly to get any of them to decoy. Many hunters around us sky busting, which added to the skittishness of the birds. All of this made for a very modest day of hunting. Posted By: Mike Napier Field Editor Southeast of Smyrna 12-22-2007 20:15 Mostly Sunny, No Precipitation – 35-40 Degrees The ducks seem to have become nocturnal for some reason. They move into Bombay about 20 mins before shooting time never to be seen again. They fly in groups of a couple hundred and just wave after wave go in. Must have saw/heard 5000 ducks in the morning. Not much shooting and didn’t fire the gun.
